Pastor John Christopher

Pastor John grew up in Heber Springs, Arkansas.  In his 20s, he felt a strong call of ministry upon his life and began serving at Shady Grove Baptist Church (Shirley, Arkansas) in 2002.  While serving there, he attended Central Baptist College, and earned his B.A. in Pastoral Studies in 2004.  He also served as a prison chaplain volunteer from 2000-2004.

In 2005, Pastor John moved to Pennsylvania and married his wife, Amy, (with whom he now has a family of seven children).  In 2006, he pastored Wimmer’s Bible Fellowship Church and also went to Baptist Bible College (now Clarks Summit University).  He graduated with his Master of Divinity in 2009.  That year he also served as Chaplain resident and earned four CPE credits (Clinical Pastoral Education) at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA.  Pastor John also has served as a prison chaplain volunteer for PA from 2006-2010.

Currently, Pastor John serves as the Pastor at Elmdale Bible Church, first serving as interim Pastor in September 2023, and then becoming Pastor in February 2024.  He strives to “preach the Word, to be ready in season and out of season, to convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching” (II Timothy 4:2), and also to be a “worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (II Timothy 2:15, NKJV).  Pastor John is grateful for all the opportunities he has had to serve wherever the Lord sends him.
